Aims-1
Our Most Ambitious Project
Our Most Ambitious Project
Program Overview
Aims-1 will be our first rocket that we build for the sole purpose of reaching space. The program is based in Ohio at the Julian D. Boyles Testing and Production Facility. At the moment, the design is undergoing a review and calculations and research are underway to get accurate measures of the hardware we will need to make Aims-1's mission possible. We will not provide more information on the vehicle until what information we have is accurate and tested. Currently, the Aims-TA-1 tank pathfinder is being prepared for pressure proof testing up to our required pressure of 6 bar (87 psi) aboard the Aims-1 tanks. Outside of this, Polaris V3, our first real pathfinder for the engine powering this sounding rocket, is undergoing a major redesign before initial construction, which will begin in late 2025.
Aims-1 is targeting a launch no earlier than 2035.

Aims-1 Mockup
This 1:1 scale mockup of Aims-1 stands at 15ft tall and 12 inches in diameter. Currently being built at the Jackson R. Codair Testing & Production Facility, the Aims-1 Mockup will conduct a 2 second static fire test with an Aerotech G40-4W rocket motor in April. The mockup is made out of cardboard as well as the fins, and the nosecone is 3d printed. The test stand is made out of wood accompanied with a steel flame diverter.
